Well hello 2023! I can’t believe how quickly 2022 flew by. It was my first full year being a mummy and there were many ups and downs throughout the year. As 2022 came to a close and I was doing my New Year Intention Setting Ritual, I realised a few things:
- Despite what challenges I stumbled upon, I always found a way with the support of my Spirit guides and having unwavering faith in the Universe. I reminded myself that everything is just a phase and this storm will pass, and it did!
- I didn’t make many big decisions in 2022, and that’s something I want to change this year. I suppose being a new mum and trying to balance work with that new adjustment meant that I kind of let life ramble a bit aimlessly.
- My family mean everything to me and as long as we have each other, I will always have enough.
After reflecting on 2022, I had the chance to think about how I can make 2023 my most successful year yet and that is what I want to share with you today. These are just a few ideas and tips I have, so please let me know yours in the comments. I truly believe that by supporting each other on our individual paths, we can all find greater meaning and fulfillment.
Free yourself of fear
I won’t lie to you, this is hard. However, by choosing to give your fears and worries to Spirit, you will be able to lighten your load and navigate through life much easier. Remember that fear is merely an illusion that you have created. It lives within your mind so by making some mental adjustments, your outer conditions will reflect this. Fear closes our hearts to love, and to live without an open heart is to live without hope, dreams and imagination.
Set intentions
Setting intentions isn’t the same as setting goals. Goals have fixed outcomes whereas intentions are more of a commitment to change a pattern or behaviour. Goals are focused on tomorrow, whereas intentions are focused on today. Goals are a destination whereas intentions are a direction. Create a mantra for your year which could be one word or a few words to remind yourself of your annual intention. Mine is ‘productivity and balance’ for 2023.
Create plans for your visions
If you have an idea or vision for something you want to do, then plant that seed and create an action plan for nurturing it to life. You don’t want to let your visions go to waste, which is easy to do since it is often scary to follow through on our visions which require us to leave our comfort zone. By creating an action plan, you have some clear steps broken down to show you how to achieve what you desire.
Be kind to yourself
Stop with the negative self talk. Speak to yourself in the same way you would a friend. Stop pointing out your ‘flaws’, and start to appreciate your best qualities. You have so much to offer, if only you could see it. By being kinder to yourself, you will experience a boost in your confidence and self-esteem.
Give others permission to be themselves and live their own life
By letting go of expectations of other people, we give them the space to be themselves rather than the people we want them to be or expect them to be. We often get annoyed at people because they don’t act how we expect them to. They act differently because they aren’t the same as us. Giving them permission to act in their own way stops us from being disappointed and gives us the opportunity to think about our own motives.
Control your mindset
Our mind truly dictates the experiences we have. Find yourself noticing the bad weather, the traffic, the daily frustrations? If you have a negative mindset, you may begin to limit yourself. You may not believe you deserve something, or can’t achieve something. You may create excuses not to start something because of this mindset. Did you know our mindset is solidified in childhood, so our experiences from a young age have such a huge impact on how we view ourselves and the world around us? As we age, our mindset does evolve, but we also have the power to consciously shift our mindset, although it can be difficult. However, if you commit to creating a more positive mindset this year, then I promise you it will be the best thing you do. If you have a positive mindset, then you notice how full of possibility the world is, and you see challenges as opportunities for self-improvement or vital life change. If you want to know how to change your mindset to a more positive one, then come back next week, where I will share my tips on creating this powerful change.
Thank you for being part of my journey in 2022 and here is to an even better year. May your 2023 be filled with magic and miracles.
Love,
Emily xx
