The orbit of the moon intersects with the Earth’s orbit around the Sun at two points. The ascending or North Node is where the Moon moves into the northern hemisphere of the Earth’s orbit, and the descending or South Node is where the Sun enters the southern hemisphere of the Earth’s orbit. The South Node tells you information about karma you have to heal, and what you were like in a past life. You have to become a better version of this past life in your current life by doing something completely different than what you chose to do in this past life. The South Node is also a comfort zone of sorts. You naturally gravitate towards matters represented by the sign and house it is in, and it is hard for you to look beyond that.

The North Node is like the spiritual compass for your whole life. It tells you the direction in which you must move in order to fulfill your soul’s purpose and heal the karma you carry over from past lives.
